This is brought each year to the heart of Edinburgh where you can glide along our purpose-built ice rink, amongst the city's historic streets that tell tales of centuries of their own festive cheer. From the wannabe-professional figure skater, the daring independent child speeding along on their own, the Bambi on ice and the “I'll push off at the next turn” barrier huggers our ice rink will bring memories for a lifetime. Those wintery scenes from our favourite Christmas films, of grabbing your skates and gliding along ice where just a short while before there was none are etched in all our minds! From a family day out, a break between the girls shopping trip or a romantic little date for two (or more...), grab your skates and meet us on the ice. Then relive the pirouettes - intended or not – in the Winter Warming Bar after. We provide Relaxed sessions, for those who need a little more space to enjoy and something kinder on the senses. We also host Toddler sessions, for wee ones who are too small for the skates in public sessions and Late Skates, for adults looking for a bit of a boogie on the ice. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by a responsible adult (18+), no babes in arms. Any children attending a Standard session must fit a minimum child size 8 shoe - we will have designated sessions for the wee ones Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult after 8 pm Please arrive 20 minutes before your time slot to get your skates on before your session starts! For safety reasons, you are not allowed to take photographs whilst on the ice. However, spectators can take photos from the viewing platforms around the rink For safety reasons, bags are not permitted on the ice and must be checked into our cloakroom for a fee of £2. This must be paid by card only The minimum skate size boot on the rink is a children's size 8, and the maximum is an adult size 15 Skate hire is included in your ticket price, but you're also welcome to bring your own skates, subject to suitability checks (Please note: speed skates are not allowed.) Skating aid penguins are available for younger children at an additional cost of £5. These can be purchased at the Ice rink. Only children under 1.2m tall with skates on can use the Penguins. Subject to availability Wheelchair users are welcome on the rink in any session. Please note, motorised wheelchairs must be in manual mode whilst on the ice.
